Users who encounter this error when launching the desktop client

Task Manager access is required.

When launching the application, you may see the error "The application is already running".  

This article explains what causes the issue and how to resolve it.

1. Issue

When launching the application, you see this error dialog:

This appears because the program has already launched and:

• is running in the background.
• it might have crashed on launch, in which case it will not be visible on screen.

2. Solution

To resolve this issue:

• Open Task Manager.
• Find Pentana.Tng.UI.Smart (32 bit).
• Click the process.
• Click End Task.
  Its process line should disappear from the list.
• Close Task Manager.

You should now be able to launch the application.
