Pentana Audit: Message “Cannot set Action to Completed until all the child Action Updates are resolved” even though no Action Updates are visible
When attempting to sign off an Action you may receive this message:
Action: You cannot set this Action to Completed until all the child Action Updates are resolved
This will appear if the Action has unresolved Action Updates, and you will be able to fix the issue by:
- Going to the Action Updates screen
- Locating the Action Update for that Action
- Accepting or Rejecting that Action Update
If no Action Update is visible, this may mean that the Action’s Type was changed from Tracked to Not Tracked after the Action Update was created. Actions that are Not Tracked are excluded from the Action Updates screen, so it will not be apparent that there is an unresolved Action Update.
In this case:
- Change the Type of the Action from Not Tracked to Tracked
- Go to the Action Updates screen (or, if it is already open, click refresh)
- Accept or Reject the Action Update which is now visible
- Go back to the Action, and change its Type back again
You will now be able to sign off the Action.
