Troubleshooting the "(405) Method Not Allowed." desktop client error

When launching the application, you may see the error message: "The remote server returned an unexpected response: (405) Method Not Allowed."
This article explains what causes the issue and how to resolve it.
1. Issue
When attempting to connect to the server, the desktop client shows the error message.
In addition, browsing to the service at http://[server]/[PentanaInstance]/Service/TngService.svc in MS Edge returns a 404 error.
This is because the application server is missing a feature. In the example above, the Windows 2022 feature .NET Framework 4.8 Features > WCF Services has not been installed.
2. Solution
