This article explains what organisational units are and how they are used to structure entities within the audit universe.
1. Understanding organisational units
Organisational units define the structural hierarchy of your organisation within the Universe module.
They provide a logical framework that allows you to group entities based on how your organisation operates, such as by region, business function, or legal structure.
2. Understanding the relationship between organisational units and entities
- When you create an entity, you must assign it to an organisational unit.
- Organisational units act as containers that hold entities, allowing you to organise and report on audits at different levels of the organisation.
- You can switch between viewing organisational units and entities using the Display mode selector.
3. Using organisational units for reporting and management
Organisational units support reporting, navigation, and access control across the audit universe.
They allow you to:
- View entities grouped by organisational structure
- Apply reporting filters at different hierarchy levels
- Control access to entities through organisational unit permissions
