Creating an Org Unit
Who is this article for?
Administrators who need to set up organisational structure.
Admin access to Universe module required
This article explains how to create an organisational unit within the org structure hierarchy.
1. Navigating to the org structure
- Navigate to Universe
- Org Structure
- Left click in the org unit navigator window.
- Use your mouse to select the location within the data tree.
2. Adding a new org unit
Select Add from the general toolbar in the ribbon. You may also right click your mouse and select Add from the drop-down menu.
3. Completing org unit properties
The org unit information may then be completed and saved within the properties panel:
| Parent | This is where you select where in the hierarchy you wish the org unit to appear |
| Name | Mandatory and unique - enter the name of the org unit |
| Order | Order in which item appears (amongst siblings) |
| Colour | Mandatory and unique - enter the name of the org unit |
| Description | Add additional information here |
| Active | Activate or deactivate the org unit; only active org units can participate in the scope of planned audits |
| Retired | Cascades down to the child Entities respectively. This allows users to deactivate a larger part of the Org Structure in one go rather than having to do each child item individuall |
| Configuration | Options will include the Parent Matrix Configuration or any of its local matrix configurations. Where the same configuration value occurs the change will cascade down to all child Org Units and Entities - it will not override any configurations already assigned lower down. Please note that any change in the Matrix Configuration will clear all current assessments from its Entities and relevant Open Audits. The clearing of current assessments cannot be reversed once made |
