Administrators who need to remove entities from the organisational structure.

This article explains how to delete an entity from your organisational structure and the conditions that must be met before deletion is possible.

1. Deleting an entity

1. Navigate to Universe
2. Org Structure
3. Left click to select the entity you wish to delete.
4. Select Delete from the general toolbar in the ribbon. 
5. You can also right click your mouse and select Delete from the drop-down menu.

Important: You cannot delete an entity that is active and being utilised for records. You can mark an entity as retired which will prevent new audits being scoped to it.

2. Understanding deletion requirements

Before you can delete an entity or organisational unit, specific conditions must be met to ensure data integrity.

1. Entities can only be deactivated if:

• All linked audits are closed
• All entity ORCT are closed

2. OrgUnits can only be deactivated if:

• All linked entities are closed
