Mapping Entities and Processes
Who is this article for?
Audit managers who need to create mappings between organisational entities and audit processes.
Access to Universe and Org Structure required
The mapping of entities and processes provides a matrix of nodes that potentially require an audit, allowing you to perform audits with respect to an individual process (for all relevant entities), an individual entity (for all relevant processes), or a combination of potentially auditable nodes.
1. Mapping an entity to a process
- Navigate to Universe
- Org Structure
- Select either an Org Unit or entity.
- Choose Map processes from the actions toolbar in the ribbon.
2. Expanding the hierarchy detail
- Use the 1, 2, or 3 buttons to expand the detail to a particular level of the hierarchy.
- Click individual row or column headers to expand and collapse sections.
Note: There is the potential to overwhelm the screen if you try to display too much information. Use the appropriate navigators to display only the records required.
3. Creating and saving mappings
- Make a tick in a cell to create mappings for the corresponding entities and processes.
- Click OK to close.
4. Understanding the tick indicators
The matrix uses different tick styles to indicate the status of mappings and audits:
- A faint green tick indicates that not all the cells within the roll up are selected
- A bold green tick indicates that all cells within the roll-up are selected
- A faint red tick indicates that not all cells within the roll up have an open or draft audit
- A bold red tick indicates that all cells within the roll-up have an open or draft audit
5. Working with long names and adjusting the display
Long entity or process names will be automatically word-wrapped or truncated. Where necessary, use the tool tip to show the full name.
Where you have several levels of depth to either the process or entity hierarchies, the matrix row headers can take up the majority of the screen real-estate. To help maximise the screen, you may adjust these column sizes accordingly.
