The Control Matrix analysis screen provides dynamic analysis of Entity Controls across the universe through a heat map matrix, offering features comparable to the Risk Matrix module with pre-filters, display of matching controls and drill-through capabilities into detailed information.
1. Accessing the Control Matrix
The Control Matrix is available at three different levels within the system:
- Universe level
- Entity level
- Audit level
Each control assessment allows you to rate the specific control in respect of both the Control Design and the Control Operation. The resulting scores are then graded according to a heat map, whereby different score combinations give rise to different grades and colours.
2. Using the Navigator
Selecting the Navigator displays the number of control assessments for all entities contained within that navigator level. This provides a quick overview of assessment coverage across your organisational structure.
3. Viewing control details
Clicking on a cell in one of the matrix displays a summary in the Data Grid of the controls that have that particular score. This allows you to drill down into specific control assessments based on their ratings.
Under the matrices is an unassessed field giving a count of the number of controls not assessed. Clicking on this will provide a summary list of all controls that still require assessment.
4. Copying the Control Matrix
The copy function available on the ribbon is a method to easily transfer the control matrix to your clipboard where you are then able to paste it into other documents such as Microsoft Word.
To copy the Control Matrix:
- Click the Copy button on the ribbon.
- Navigate to your target document.
- Paste the matrix using your standard paste function.
