Updating audit items from library changes
Who is this article for?
Users responsible for managing audit items.
No special access or permissions are required.
When you make changes to ORCT items in the library, you cannot automatically push those changes down to the audit level, but related functionality exists to help you update your audits.
This article explains how to use it.
1. Limitations
Direct updates from library changes to audit-level items are not possible. However, you can use specific refresh functions at different levels to incorporate library changes into your work.
2. Updating audit items
2.1. Entities
At the entity level, you can use the Refresh from Library function to update individual entities according to changes made to library items.
2.2. Audit milestones
You can refresh audit milestones from the library to retrieve any additional milestones that now apply to the audit. This occurs when changes are made to the audit type or to the library contents since the audit was added.
2.3. Guidance fields
When you update the Guidance field in a library record, the entity-level or audit-level records automatically update with the new guidance.
To prevent automatic guidance updates, use the Break Link function.
Important
The Break Link function is irreversible, so ensure you are using it only when necessary.
