Configuring dashboards
Internal Audit has many dashboards and widgets to display summaries and graphs of important data.
This article outlines each Dashboards purpose, the widgets available to users and how to configure them.
Where can I find Dashboards?
- Home Dashboard - Universe > Home
- Client Dashboard - Universe > My Clients > Client
- Audit Dashboard - Universe > Audits > Audit Home
- Entity Dashboard (available from v5.2 onwards) - Universe > Org Structure > Entity Home
What does each Dashboard do?
- The Home Dashboard is the first screen that a user will see when they access the system. This dashboard displays an overview for important information in the Universe or Client as a whole (eg. Actions By State\Priority and Audits By Rating) as well as relevant items which are the linked to you user account (eg. My Entities, My Reserved Files).
- The Client Home Dashboard is the (optional launch) default screen when you start client work. Each individual client has it's own Client Home screen, so you can create a personalised dashboard of widgets suitable for each and every client.
- The Audit Dashboard is the (optional launch) default screen when you start an audit. The Audit Home dashboard provides you with widgets to analyse the current progress of the Audit.
- The Entity Dashboard is the (optional launch) default screen when you start entity work. The Entity Home Dashboard screen provides you with widgets to analyse the current information within the Entity.

How can I customise a Dashboard?
In all Dashboards the following Display settings can be configured under the Commands toolbar:
- Orientation - if the widgets fill the dashboard in a horizontal or vertical manner.
- Scale - to what extent the whole dashboard is scaled to, this can be increased or decreased to suit using the slider.
- Reset - this button will Reset the Dashboard to defaults: eg. only the Client details page will remain on the Client Home dashboard.
- Size - to change the size of an individual widget in the dashboard, the size options are Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
Once a widget with a chart on it has been selected, the chart Format tool will appear. This allows us to customise the settings of the chart being displayed.
- Chart Type - choose from a range of different Chart Types to best represent the Widget data set.
- Rotate - available on selected Charts to rotate the axis 90 degrees.
- Colours - individual to each Widget, choose from a range of colour schemes to colour code your Audit Data for easier identification.
- Style - change the appearance style of elements in a particular Widget.
- Show Legend - show the chart Legend to explain a detailed chart Widget.
- Show Labels - label your charts for an improved clarity of values. For some charts you may also change the position of labels, optionally show connectors
and change the label size, indent and angle. - Show Title - add a title for your chart, on certain charts you can also add an X-Axis and Y-Axis title.
