Purging the Audit Trail
Where the audit trail is enabled, audit records will be continually added to the trail. It is possible to remove audit trail log records older than n months via a set of robot jobs.
The jobs are as follows:
These jobs are turned off by default.
Activating the purge jobs
- At the server, launch App Manager and ensure that you have selected the correct Pentana instance
- Click the [Robot] tab
- Click Robot Service > Connect and wait for the connection
- Scroll down the Robot Jobs list, to the set that is named PurgeAuditTrail.*
- For each, check the checkbox in the Active column:
- Click Save
- Restart the Pentana Robot service
Changing the retention period
You can change the number of months retention for each job by doing the following:
- Launch the Internal Audit desktop client
- Click the Admin spine item
- Go to System Settings
- Expand the Audit Trail group:
- Type the required number of months into the relevant box
- Making a change will make the Save icon active. Click to save
