Ideagen Internal Audit (Aura): The Time Sheet Period Name field's date format does not match user's locale
When you add a new Time Sheet Period, there are three mandatory fields:
- Start Date is the first day of the period
- End Date is the last day
Start Date and End Date are always displayed in the format specified by the local PC, so if a Start Date of the 11 August is entered, someone in the US will see it as 8/11/2022, whereas their colleague in the UK will see 11/08/2022.
- Name can be edited by the user, but by default is filled in by Ideagen Internal Audit (Aura) as:
[Start Date] – [End Date]
Name is simply a text label created when the timesheet is added.
Users will always see dates formatted according to their locale, but as the Name is simply a text label created when the user adds the Time Sheet Period it will inherit that user's format. This means that someone in the US creates a Name with a US date format, while someone in the UK will generate names with UK format dates. These labels will be the same for all users, regardless of location.
For example, if a period of 6th January – 12th January is created by a user in the US, this is what someone in the UK will see - note the Name contains dates in US format while the Start Date and End Date are UK format:
Time Sheet Period names can be changed at any time, so ones created with the ‘wrong’ name can be renamed as required.
